Has anyone else seen this? Finches are taking my chickens feathers off the ground. It's kind of funny because the girls get all riled up and defensive, but I can't figure out why the finches are taking them or what they're using them for. Any ideas?

Thanks!

For building nests? My horses always seem to contribute mane or tail hair to the local nest building population.

Yep, they're feathering a nest. Nature's way of recycling. I find nests with my chicken's feathers in them frequently.
