So I have a place that is within a 30 min drive off me that offers certified organic feed - which is important to me. Equally important is finding a feed without Soy. And they actually offer that as well however the replacement for soy is roasted Beans -- Kidney, Pinto, Black. Anyone else have an experience that with type of mix. I hesitate to go all in with that because I've read that beans can be very bad (for chickens and humans) However I'm wondering if they are fermented if that would clear up that issue.
However I've been researching the Fodder System and it seems for chickens most are only doing Sprouts since they can not digest that much fiber. And then I happened upon Fermented. I'm totally okay with just being given a link to read about the answers to my questions. There is so much info here!

You're only feeding soy by another name even though the beans may not be GMOs the Kidney, Pinto, and Black beans are likely raised with commercial fertilizer and sprayed with pesticides to control insects like the Green Velvet Bean Caterpillar, a significant pest in all beans.

I appreciate your response so even though the beans are certified Organic? The reason why I don't want soy is because they mess with hormones.

Beans are only poisonous if they are not cooked. Sprouting them also removes the toxin. Now you state that the beans are roasted, guess thats cooked. And if it's 'chicken feed' I'd say that they know what they are doing and safe lol.
Beans are very good for you and chickens. I cook some up or sprout some occasionally to add some extra protein to their diet.
"Beans are rich in a number of important micronutrients, including potassium, magnesium, folate, iron, and zinc, and are important sources of protein in vegetarian diets."

Edited to add, beans are not soy.

Serious question, how do you mean? Are you concerned with them messing with hormones in Chickens or downstream in people? I understand the concerns with wanting to avoid soy for all of the estrogen it can put into a human diet. But, all legumes have a lot of estrogen, relatively speaking, and I haven't heard any concerns about it getting into eggs, strictly from a dietary perspective.
