Finding and adult rooster

I seem to be having a hard time finding a rooster to add to my flock of hens. I admit it’s a last minute decision I should of made from the beginning seeing the open environment they will have to forage. I need a Rhode Island Red rooster mainly because I’ve read they r tough and 10 of the 30 girls r reds. All my girls came from Hoover’s hatchery and r almost 9 weeks old so getting a baby rooster seems pointless lol
But I’d like to get him from a safe legitimate place because I do not want to put my girls In danger because so far they r happy n heslthy

Second that, unless you want for sure purebred stock.

I will add, any rooster will work fine. It doesn't have to be a RIR unless you want to do a lot of Purebred breeding. And I also will say, that in my experience, RIR roos, no matter what, are aggressive a-holes. A nice docile rooster would be a better choice.

Also ditto that. Most game roosters typically are aggressive as well.

I had heard that rhode island reds are aggressive. Most any roo is a good protector, and there are dozens in need of rehoming. Check out the 'buy, sell, trade' forum.

It’s not that I want an asshole lol but it’s out in the country my girls r gonna need an asshole to fight off raccoons hawks and the like
Is Facebook n Craigslist a safe place to purchase a clean healthy bird
I haven’t looked there yet I was just worried about bringing in anything that could hurt my babies

You might want to wait until your girls are bigger and then get a younger rooster. If you get one the same age, he will be sexually mature before they are and this can cause some problems.
