I was told in another forum that I shouldn't buy silkies or americaunas unless I find them from a breeder with the good stuff. Well, I have been searching the web for 'good stuff' and can't figure it out. I guess I could buy from across the country, but I would really rather save my shipping money and go pick them up myself. I have also run into limit issues with orders that are being shipped. I can't have more than 4 hens. Is there a list of breeders in each state somewhere?

I'm also looking for Americaunas. I bought one from a lady in Marana who said 'she' was an Andalusian. Turns out it's a 'he' and I need hens for him. Any help is greatly appreciated. My kids want to show them in 4-H. Thanks!

"The good stuff" refers to standard of those two breeds, which most hacheries don't bother to go for. their birds of those two especially are bad examples of those breeds, and half breed quality at very best, usually, not showing much but most basic hints of those breeds that are most recognized by non experienced in breeds standards.

Heard holderhead/holderread or something like one of those, followed by think was sandhill or similer to that, were two best standard gotten. holderread or whatever called had bad quality standards for their pics, so not sure what to wonder bout that, as pics of birds hatched out from birds ect gotten from those two were over all usually better than any other hatchery birds.
