We decided we wanted to start having fresh eggs so we needed a coop. I've never built one but it was fun. I still need a good floor covering for the coop. Tried sticky tiles but they didn't stick. Has anyone used liquid nails on the back of the sticky tiles??? Here are some pics of what we came up with.

That is too cool! Thanks for sharing the photos....any chance of getting a peek at the inside?

No advice on the tiles, I just painted the floor and covered it with a layer of pine shavings. So far, no issues.

What a unique coop! I love the rustic look.

Don't know about the tiles - I used a remnant sheet of linoleum for my coop floor. I don't even remember what adhesive I used - it was whatever the Home Depot guy handed me, lol!

I'd LOVE to see the inside! Great job!

I love, love, love it! its so cute a western theme it will be great. I have never tried sticky tiles im sorry I cant help you there but otherwise great job:)

Sticky tiles won't work out so well, a single sheet of something is much better. The more you have seams, the more places for water and bugs to hide and thrive. I would use high gloss paint or a single sheet of floor covering. The single tiles always seem to come up as well, you could search BYC for same and read more.

That is one of the cutest coops I have ever seen! I just love it, very nice job on that one.

Thanks for the kind words. The inside is nothing special but I will try to get a pic tomorrow. I have read several different things people have tried on here and we just had some of the tiles and we would try them. I think the heavy coat of paint might be the best way to go. We would like to get our girls this weekend. How long should we wait for the paint before we put them in?

That is a good question about the curing time on the paint. I'd allow whatever amount of cure time the manufacturer stated, then follow my nose after that. I'd guess a few days at least.
