This is my first month of raising chickens. I was just thinking, with the 4th of July fireworks coming is there anthing i need to do to reduce the stress of my chickens during this time?

Fireworks don't seem to bother my chickens.

The cats are another story.

I plan to definitely have mine locked up tight before the fireworks begin. Once they are roosting, I don't believe they will get as agitated.

I think a lot of it depends on what type of sounds they are used to hearing. Ours hear loud trains everyday, when they were in the brooder DH had his saws going, and compressor. Not much startles them. Very much city chickens! LOL.However if yours are not used to loud sounds I would say better safe than sorry and shut them up in the coop early when you know fireworks may happen.
