For the first 2 days in freezing snowy January 2025, my 9 hens produced 15 eggs. Very good for this time of year.

That's great production for birds that age. Many birds take a break in production their second winter. Do you provide supplemental lighting?

No, I'm too cheap for that. Just an East facing coop and a well insulated coop. I full expected them to slow down and they did to about 5 a day for a week, then they are back laying. Not full speed, but close. Late summer was 9 to 10 a day, every day.
