First baby!

Fist one hatch. He seems very strong and happy. Proablem he is in an egg carton. Popped out his egg into the other empty cup. Does not want to be there Trying to hopped over the other eggs to move out. Is he OK in the egg carton cup??

Now he is tryng to get out the window and bumping into the heating coil. OUCHY.

Put up some barriers - I had the same problem - my chicks were super mobile right out of the egg, actually scaled a 3 inch wall and were walking around on the shelf with big holes and the egg turner - terrifying ...Anyway they can get hurt. I used packing tape and cut cardboard to make a custom box with paper towel on the bottom and high enough so they couldn't hop the fence til dry. Once dry, I get them the heck out of the incubator into a brooder.

Just now hatched a fourth. I took out the other three. They are cuddled and sleeping in the brooder. They seem so much calmer in the brooder.
