First barred rock chickens

Hi BACKYARD CHICKENS LOVERS. I just got 5 barred rock hens chickens yesterday and today it is in the 20's and blowing up to 30 mph. And the Owner haven't been feeding layer feed. Is it normal for them not to come out of the coop ? And how long until they start laying. 4 of them are 1 1/2 years old and 1 is 1 years old. And 1 is fat and 1 is shy and young and all the rest of them are normal. What would be some names for them.

Everything sounds normal for new chickens. I am suprised they are not all shy. Most will be reluctant to come out of the coop at first.
