I have about 20 chicks so far!!! Is there anything special I should be doing for them that you don't do for baby chicks? One of the chicks does not seem to be doing very well, is that to be expected?
They are so little and cute!

Any advice would be appreciated!!

Hey Hobby....just leave them in there till they dry. Usually I wait till the majority of the chicks have hatched and dryed before opening. They will be fine for 24hrs without food or water. And with bobwhite usually once some hatch they ALL HATCH. Yes sometimes you do have a chick that doesn't do well. Just watch him/her. If it dies remove it from the incubator.

Good Luck with them please post pics!!!

Thanks for the info. The one is still hanging in there but it is just laying on it side. I am feeding them regular chick starter because I can't seem to find game bird starter, is that OK!!

I had one that laid on it's side for 2 days, I fed it and gave it water out of a bottle cap. The next day I was prepared for it to not be alive but there it was running around with all the other chicks. it took him some time but he caught up (must have been the extra meal worms

I would take non medicated chick starter and grind it with some cat food. If you are unable to find non medicated turkey or gamebird starter.
With the sickly one try a little light karo or if you don't have that suger water
Best of luck and don't forget pictures!!

The above post says it all. If you can't find gamebird starter mix some cat food with some 20% chick starter and blend it.
