First call duckling help!

I hatched this baby 19 days ago and was too afraid to sex it since I have heard how call ducklings are so fragile. He/she is a snowy call mallard. But I and curious about the sex. I can see it getting its first big feathers but I have noticed on the head there is a very distinct coloration as to maybe a drake. I have mallards and buffs already so I know they color out the brown pattern first, however this is my first snowy. Maybe there's an expert out there that can tell me if the distinct darkness of the head is an early indication of male?

No, sorry... all snowy juveniles color out with darker heads first... you'll have to wait and hear quack or not to tell gender...

Well dang. I'm trying to give my baby a name and I can't do it until I know. I guess it will have to stay as bebe until I know!
