Hello All. It is my first upcoming winter with my new flock. I had to put the heated water dish out already tonight as the water froze today. Yikes!! Do you keep your food and water inside the coop or in the run? Does it matter?

Coop. Where I live, the water rarely freezes even when the temp dips below 32. But it's fine to keep them both wherever you want, as long as the feed is kept dry and free from frost or dew.

I never really though about the food having frost on it or possibly freezing. I will have to figure something out. It may b a little cramped with the food n water in the coop. I may be able to at least make a little shelter for just that outside. I am not sure how the snow will blow in this area either as this is our first winter in this house. Things to think about.
