Finally, the Coop and Run are almost done.
We converted an OLD shed into a cozy home for our Chickens, and are hoping we did good...

This is our first coop EVER, and we kind of designed it ourselves....

I wanted to post some pics (since I am NOT a Chicken expert, and we are kind of going with the flow)
This is our FIRST chicken coop EVER....

I wanted to know your guyses opinions, as well as if there was something we were missing.
BTW: we ARE going to take out the SMALL windows, and pout Larger windows in. To give them more light.
One window in each side of the coop (Currently they only have 1 window)

I still need to make a feeder as well as open up the back side of the coop which is going to make a HUUUUUUGE outside run area for the babes....

BTW, the "cage" thing in there, is the Temporary housing for the young chicks. There is a hole cut out in front, so they can get in and out. Big enough for them to get thru, but too small for the adults...

Anyhow....

Here is the Nest-Box.
I am VERY proud of this one because I made it all by myself! No help from hubby!
And it was made of all SCRAP materials that someone else was going to throw away. Not a penny spent!

This is what you pretty much see when you walk in. Front View towards the upper back.

Ooohhh...can't wait for the bigger windows too! It's looking really good! I would suggest placing a slanted board to cover the top of the upper nest box so that nobody is able to perch up there and poop in them. Keep us updated with pics!
