First County Fair

Today after i get off work I will be entering my chickens in the county fair. I am entering a Red Cochin Pullet, Wheaten Old English Cockeral, and a Self Black Polish Pullet. Yesterday I entered alot of items from my garden. So hopefully I will bringing home lots of ribbons!!!

As of this morning only 2 other chickens were entered in the fair. The lady in charge of the small animals asked if I had any more chickens so the display would look appealing to the public. So I ran home and grabbed 6 more chicks. I think I am gaurenteed to win some riboons. We will see what the judges have to say on saturday.

all our chickens won first place for there breed. Our Red Cochin won grand champion, Old English Silver Duckwing won grand champion, and our wheaten Old English won reserve champion. It was alot of fun and we learned alot from talking with the judges. My DH now wants to get serious about raising show quality chickens so we travel to different shows.
