So I have 18-19weeks old (Red Sex Link) and 16-17weeks old (barred rock & a large mixed breed unknown)
I found the first tiny egg, then less than a week later I found a l/xl egg on the ground, hard but with green goo inside. It's been two+ weeks since I've seen anything! I put fake eggs in the boxes and check 3-4 times a day. Could they be eating them as quick as they lay? Or am I doing something wrong? Adding: I feed them Purina layer feed in A.M. plus leftover fruits & veggies in the evening.

Did you take a pic of this?

Do you free range?
Do this test and if they appear to be laying lock them up until they use the coop nests.

They should have feed available every hour that they are awake,
keep the fruit and veg to a minimum(couple times a week) unless your layer feed is higher than 16%.

12x12 enclosed area with a coop, sectioned off for roost and a 4x5 room for nests. I've got 22 birds to check haha so I'll get on that this morning and see how many are showing signs. Should I then seperate those birds or just keep up with fake eggs in the nests?
