I let mine out for the first time yesterday and they just stood in the corner and stared wide-eyed at the world.

Eventually a couple ventured out. Just keep on giving them an opportunity! They'll soon not want to come back!

I borrowed an octagon pen from my neighbor and we angled it against the corner of our house. They found earthworms,bugs, and who knows what else! It was as much fun for me as it was for them I think!!
