First duckling hatched and knocked around all the other eggs

Is it more important to keep the incubator closed than to put the other eggs back into proper position?

Yes, I would keep it closed especially since its sounds your eggs are in hatching phase. Opening and closing can cause possible shrink wrap with the variants in temps.

The more babies hatch, the remaining eggs will move some but should be fine. My incubator just has me place them in , does not have like secure holders for the eggs and my hatches have been fine.

To me its more damaging or should I say risky opening your incubator at this point.
