Hi everyone.

We have just bought two Runner Ducks for my son for his birthday. He is 7 and loves them very much. He has named then James and Alfie.

I'm really just after newbie advice and tips. I've had lots of chickens but never ducks! I want to make sure these guys get the absolute best care and attention and that I teach my son how to look after them so they lead long, happy lives.

Thanks for reading

They should always have access to food and water they need water to help swallow their food. They shouldn't run away if you let them walk around the yard and get some exercise. Shade is important. Also be sure to check on them if you let them out. I lost my duck to a dog. :( so be sure to check for predators. Hope some of these tips helped!

Thanks, they have access to water (drinking) and a splash pool all day. Their food is next to all of the water sources.
They're such fun birds to watch although they don't seem to roam much.

Yeah they are very cute too! Make sure your ducks don't fly away when they get older! I think my ducks are too lazy to fly
