First egg from new flock

So anyway, I'm out feeding all the chickens tonight, grumbling to myself wondering how much longer till I get some eggs from my 16 week olds. And there in one of the nest boxes is an egg!Not a big one, but an egg, just the same. YESS!!!!

Congrats! Wow--they are only 16wks old and laying---I first egg on Friday of last week--they were 24weeks old... I know how excited your were!

We too got our first ever egg Saturday, last. And it was 2nd GDs birthday...she was so tickled!

It was small, we thought, but it looked like a medium size compared to store bought ....since then we now have 7 eggs, from 2 of our 4 BR's.

Some more precocious than others...they are all the same age,(about 18-19 weeks) but .......go figger!

Ain't life great?
