So excited to wake up this morning and find a baby chick in the incubator!!!!! He/she is absolutely beautiful!!!! I have 4 other eggs in there and the chick has been walking around and some of them have been moved. Is this ok??? I have seen evidence of 2 others with pipping, so I'm expecting they will be here soon. Do I just leave the chick in there? I did read that he would be ok without food the first day or so.

Aw how beautiful! Love waking up to find new chicks in the bator! Yes, the chick knocking the other eggs actually is said to stimulate the other chicks into hatching, as long as it's not too vigourous. I would move her/him to a brooder away from the other eggs when it dries off.

Baby #2 is now out and moving about! yay! First chick looks really good, almost dry. I don't see the other 3 eggs moving yet, so not sure how much longer they may be if at all. They all looked good when I candled, and I think one of them has moved but not the other 2. Today is day 21.

Yay! So excited for you! What breeds are they? My eggs are due on the 7th. Always so excited when it gets around that time.

The dad is a buff orpington and the mom of one is a red and egg #3 just hatched this morning! I have a buff egg and the other 3 eggs are easter eggers.

I'm worried about the chick that just hatched!! He doesn't seem to be moving very good and is peeping loudly. It's like his head is stuck and he can't move right or something. Any ideas?
