Found my first egg today! I'm not sure who laid it, but I suspect it's the one with a very... umm... visible vent. Her usually fluffy butt is decidedly unfluffy around the egg chute. I inspected it, and the feather quills are intact but the fluff on them seems to be just gone. There are no bugs, it does not appear irritated, and it doesn't seem to be bothering her. Could she have plucked her own butt feathers, maybe because she wasn't sure what was happening until the egg came out?

Help!

Post pic of chicken butt please.
Other birds may be pecking them.
Is she low bird on the pecking order?
