First egg of the new year!

Okay, so it technically wasn't laid after midnight...it was discovered about 11pm. But it'll be the first one set as soon as it warms up to room temp! I have a batch of chicken eggs going on lockdown on Saturday, so this little white call duck egg will be lonesome for a bit...not holding out much hope it is fertile, but it is from a different pullet than the last two and it was the first one laid in one of my new nest boxes my husband built, so that is encouraging...they are actually using the boxes and had built a nest in one for this egg!
