So i have a silkie who i was told was 16 weeks when i got her and that was about 2 weeks ago. So that would make her right at 18 weeks. She just laid her first egg today and i was wondering at what age do silkies usually start laying eggs? I have 7 other chickens that are also 18 weeks and non of them have laid any eggs. Two of those are leg horns so i would love if anyone could help me out here, so i could get a age range that my silkies really are. Thanks.

I don't know that there is a set age. That's in the normal range. I have a variety of breeds (see my signature line) and they started laying in the 18-22 week range.
