First egg

Our first egg. The she'll seems perfectly formed. Just small. It's a medium brown. I think it's from one of the wynadottes.

Congratulations! First eggs are so much fun!

My guess is the reason they were all piled up near the egg is because they were curious about it. When one of my pullets first started laying, the others would go and watch her and then inspect the egg afterwards. Thankfully I had fake eggs in the nest boxes for weeks so they didn't peck and break the real one.

It was laid on the ground in the corner of the run.
