Did a search and read that eggs are typically fertile for about 4 weeks. However, this is the first egg from an almost 6 month old Swedish Blue. She is with 3 drakes. Was wondering do I even bother trying to hatch or just eat it since its the first? She is not broody.

I've hatched eggs from my young birds with no problems at all.

However, some people will tell you yes - others no. Your choice.

It's really best to wait about a month after they start laying.

Good luck!
