First egg.

I got my first egg today and I am still feeding them starter food. The shell was stronger than I expected. I noticed about a week or so ago that they acted as if they wanted something more but I didnt want to put them on Mash until I got rid of the starter food. I did start feeding them vegetable scraps out of the garden. They seemed to like this a lot. My birds are NOT free range. Any advice here for where to go from here other than buying laying mash and grit. How about cracked corn? At what age can I start feeding them cracked corn and what does the cracked corn do for their diet?
