first eggs and such young chickens

i have 5 chickens, started with ten but neibors cat got one owl got two and one was when she was closing up coop the owl nabbed one and scared the crap out of her. but did kill the chicken. dont know what happened to others
anyway i have never had sex links before only heritage and they are 16 weeks now and the 1 each red and black sexlinks are now laying just little eggs. black one{Janise Joplin} more tan and red more almond. usually wait 20-22 weeks. never ever had eggs this small.

Sex links will start early with small eggs, but egg size will increase rapidly.

We just got our first egg last night and i'm pretty sure it's my black sexlink. it's a light brown color. We have 3 black sexlinks and 1 buff orpington but my understanding is both breeds lay brown eggs. Got another egg today!!!!
