I have started getting my first eggs in already!! they oldest ones were hatched on 2-4-09, making them only 4 months old on the 4th. The eggs ai am getting are smaller bantam sized, brown with ever so slight dark speckles. If its from my bantams, it would only be from white silkies or a little partridge cochin bantam.. Does this sound right.
I also have for big chickens, Australorps, BJG, nad DB leghorns. But they lay white eggs, so I know its not them..
so far it has been one egg a day so I think its coming from the same little hen. Poor girl has become my brahmas favorite hen. I checked one egg and it was fertile.. hes a busy boy.. Can a little cochin and a big L.B hatch an egg?

I dont know about silkies, but it could be a cochin egg. They seem to have light colored, smallish eggs, but mine are standard and the earliest layers started at around seven months, the latest one was closer to ten months! So, could it be from the austalorp?

So it may be australorp eggs, just small pullet ones? because they are half the size of a large AA egg from the grocery store.

Probably a pullet australorp egg. I am guessing a banty pullet egg would be very tiny! That is about the right size for a pullet egg, actually on the big size!
