First eggs!

I went out of town for 2 days and when I came back I had 2 eggs of a new Darker color! I hate I missed the “first egg”. I have the first 2 though, 2 days in a row.

Those are pretty dark. Were they hatchery stock? They are pretty eggs.

the 4 in a row are from Wyandottes
the 2 giant eggs are from Speckled Sussex
the one on it’s own is from White rock.

I have 4 hens ( Black laced Gold Wyandotte, Speckled Sussex, 2 white rocks)
and 19 pullets of a variety. One of the white rocks has 10- 5 wk old chicks.

How old, mine are going on 5 months & nothing is going on. Put ceramic dummy eggs nesting box but nothing. Seems older hens very territorial. Make new boxes for new hens? Any help appreciated.

I found my first couple eggs from my hens tonight! They are young still so I didn’t think I’d get eggs for a few weeks yet.
Im pretty sure this girl laid one of these eggs.

I was also thrilled to see they used the “nest box” my husband and I picked out for them.

My new layer is a 3/9 ish hatch date. I have 18 others same date not laying yet. It looks like about 5 are going to start anytime! They have red combs and have been squatting for a week or so.
It seems like no matter how many boxes I offer, they all want to lay in the same 2. Lol
