I was excited to find these today when I added some homemade snacks to their feeder.

Wasn't expecting them till mid august, but one of them is an early bloomer.

Both were light brown with little white speckles. And they're so petite.

Awwww. Look at the little nests, so round. I got my first egg by surprise too. I thought it wouldn't come for another 2 weeks. Better get some nestboxes.

awwww congrats! the eggs may be small but the girls will pop out bigger ones sooner than you know it. do you know what girls layed them and what breed they are?

i dont know who did it, but I think it's the same bird. although there were two nest, so maybe two birds?

That is their nesting "area". The new coop will have removable boxes.

I have an automatic feeder/waterer so I don't open the coop daily. They were both cold so maybe one the night before and one early morning? not sure

as for breeds, i hava a RIR, gold sexlink, Buff, and black australorp. the RIR is the most physically mature in terms of size and comb, so I'm guessing it's her
