Finally got the lunatics outside for their first field trip this weekend. They were 2.5 weeks old (now 3 wks) and the temps were in the high 80's in the sun. They looked like they had a blast! And I can start to see their personalities when they have more room to explore and bother each other.
Their coop is almost done (way too small unit from Chicken Coop Company - the "Orpington Lodge"), but it will be good for them as they grow more. I'll build another bigger one next to it this summer. But at least I can get them out to that smaller coop more frequently, if not permanently very soon once I do more predator-proofing on it.
Astute observers will notice no cardboard barrier in one picture, and then it magically appears. Turns out chicks can push through the slots on doggie play pens, lol
