This lady is a sapphire gem and the star of the flock so far. Her personality is sweet. She is a talker but very nice to the other girls. None of her flock mates bother her but I’ve never seen her pick on them either. My guess is that they know not to mess with Ms Sapphire. LOL! I am sure the other girls will step up and donate eggs as the days get longer. No pressure 🥰🐓

Thanks a bunch! I put the quarter next to the egg as suggested by one of the BYC members. Ms Sapphire does a great job consistently providing one egg every day. 🥰. I made a butter and sour cream pound cake using her eggs. It looked like I had added yellow food coloring to the batter compared to store bought eggs. Best pound cake ever. 🎉

Ours are a few weeks ahead of your girls. The rest of our flock look like the should be laying. Slackers. LOL! I am sure you and I both will be knee deep in eggs in the blink of an eye. Spring is so close! I see it everywhere! I love the change of seasons. 😎❤️ Mother Nature is a cool chick! 🥰
I assume you raised your girls from baby chicks like we did. Watching them bloom into ladies is a special treat! It is a learning experience for sure. We only have 5 chickens which makes us small time folks. 🥴. Have a wonderful day! 🤓🎉🥰

Yes, we have raised our ladies from day olds. we have enjoyed it immensly ever step of the way! we had no idea we would love chickens so much or we would have had them years ago. We have 10. We started with Seven, but watched our Easter Egger lady turn into a lad. He has a new home now, and that resulted in chicken math taking hold early and we got 4 more barred rocks to replace him. It looks like you have a buff Orpington. We have two. I love their fluffiness so much!
