I am new here but wanted to share. 
We have our first group of eggs hatching as I type. We have 3 Pekins and decided to give some eggs to our hens to hatch out. This is day 26 and we've had three hatch out so far. One looks great (the kids got to watch it) one was dead when we found it (already hatched- i think the hen killed it) and one was in the egg a little too long and is bleeding but still alive- not sure that one will make it. The good news is we have 5 other eggs shaking and peeping. Three already have cracks in them. A friend let us borrow an incubator so the rest are safe away from the hens. And now we wait. This is my first group I've ever hatched out. I think I'm more excited than the kids.
