I collected the eggs this morning, and I found this. It looks like a guinea egg to me because of it's narrow shape. What do you think? The only thing that would make me suspect that it might be a chicken egg is that I saw my 5 year old bantam scratching around in the hay where I found this egg (actually they all lay in the same area). I have no male guinea either. The egg is pretty small. Are guineas first eggs small like chickens?

Congrats!

congrats on the egg....however I think I read that you have no male guinea
so guess the little egg will be a chiguinea? or something.....

would love to see pics on this one!

Thank you, Critters!

I'm not sure if you need a male guinea or not for eggs. Unfortunately, I have the egg in the refrigerator so there's no chance of hatching it. You could google "chicken and guinea cross" and see if you can find any results. I've seen one before, and they look pretty strange.

Nope, ya don't need a male Guinea to get eggs from a Guinea Hen, most will lay regardless. You just need the males if you want keets (and more noise) lol.
