My husband and I just went through our first hatch yesterday--we are both 42---but watched and oohed and aahed with all the zeal of a 4 year old--it's amazing those little fuzzy butts fit in the eggs.

Yay!

Congrats, how exciting! I'm currently 3 days in to my first incubator hatch, and I'm so nervous I'm doing things all wonky. I've had broodies hatch chicks, and obviously its their job to fuss over their eggs. So all I have to do is be surprised when they have cute, fluffy babies. The nice lady I got the incubator from gave me some Aracauna eggs to get me started, and I really want them to hatch, so that's making me extra fussy. Goodness, now I know why broody hens are so cranky!

Mary, my hubby and I were the same way and we are older!! LOL.. we layed on our tummys with flashlights (we have a large floor model cabinet incubator) watching and cheering them on as they hatched!
beware though...it is addicting...i have a staggered hatch going right now, orps and silkies in the first wave, americaunas and slw in the second. we have over 100 in the bator right now!!
