I was just hoping for a little good luck mojo from the BYC community on my first round of eggs going into lock down on day 18, today! I'm so nervous because this is my first time attending eggs in an incubator (none of my girls would go broody and even had the nerve to eat a few eggs after trying to convince them with a few store bought to fill out the clutch)!

I'm also excited because they're all mystery chicks! My roos are a welsummer and a production red, and my (not so) little ladies that laid these are (healthy/active) cornish x. So they could really be anything! I'm just hoping the anticipation during lock down doesn't kill me! :D

*just a foot note: my cornish x girls have laid an egg a day since hitting 5 months, even a few monster double yokes (and about 3 softies on the hottest days), so I've not had the typical bad layers they've been dubbed!

Happy hatching!

I have my first pip! When I looked through the clear bottom of the incubator at 10, there it was... on the wrong darn side of the shell! But a pip is a pip, at least for the next 12 hours! I'm so nervous!
