First Hatch: Peeping Question...please???

So our traumatic move to the incubator proved successful, with one little guy popping out on the 4th. One more egg has been peeping and moving since yesterday afternoon. The egg has had a slight crack almost the entire length of the egg since the first out played bumper eggs two days ago. He is still peeping but nothing coming out yet. When should I expect him to hatch??? I can’t seem to get the humidity over 65% but, the temp is good. Any estimates?

***Loads*** of people here with more experience than I will tell you to leave it alone. However,after 24 hrs., I've always peeled back the teeniest, teeniest hole, not even big enough to get half a baby beak through, and give it this weak, stress point to break through. I would just add extra moisture via a wet cloth to keep moisture high. Also, if you pick it up, pickitup with a warm wet cloth.

Many will say that nature knows best. however, a move to an incubator isn't natural in itself, and I've always found this tiny boost after that length of time quite helpful.

When were they due? Mine hatched a day later this time. After the pip they can take up to 24 hrs to zip fully. If it acts tired or it has been in there for quite some time and still has not hatched, I go ahead and peel off the shell not the membrane. Then it should be able to pop out. If the membrane is dry, sprinkle a little bit of warm water on it, make sure not to drown it, or you can wrap a damp papertowel around it, not tight. If the membrane is too dry I go ahead and peel just a bit of it off too. Hope this helps!

It has been just over 48 hours now. He seemed quiet and tired so we have been chipping little bits off very slowly. He does look shrink wrapped and pretty dry in there. The membrane is broken but, he still hasn’t made it out. I was guessing his due date was Saturday or early Sunday. With the others out Friday (he didn’t make it) and the thriving one out Saturday at 1:00 am. He’s still in the incubator with half a shell. I’m hoping he’ll come out in the next few hours. He looks backwards and it’s obviously too big for the egg. His little but is flopping out but, that membrane is still too tight and dry. The other thing I noticed is that the point they use to break the shell (sorry don’t know my terminology) is sideways… I’m totally clueless.

Oh my goodness, yes, after that long, i would intervene. Do you have his shell wrapped in a warm, wet cloth or paper towel?

Ok this is not great. We had to help tear a bigger crack in our Hattrick egg b/c it had been that way all day and when it did come out it was stuck to the shell. Other breeders told us to cut the vein. We just left it and it came off in the next hr.

On that note he just popped out! Like I said the circumstances behind the late term move to the incubator were well terrible to us. He came out little chick bum first about an hour ago. From the looks of it he was just too big to make it. He's a good few ounces bigger than the last two. My first successful assisted hatching! Not a great first hatch but, I'll take it. The fourth is working hard now. No peeps or bumper eggs but, he's definitely working his way out and hopefully alone this time thanks for all the help everyone. I'll be sure to post picks as soon as they're in the brooder! Next question egg #11 (as THEY have been numbered) is a double yolk. They both look good and are very active. I'm guessing the due date is around Wednesday. What are the chances they'll make it?
