First hatch temp might have been off the whole time, help?

So I am using a little giant 9300. Everyone told me to calibrate my instruments. Can anyone recommend a good hygrometer/thermometer? I bought 2 cheap ones that are telling me the temp is 98 degrees and the little giant is saying it is at 102. So I am wondering if my eggs have been 98 degrees the whole time. Awful feeling. I am now increasing the little giant temp to 106 in an attempt to get the eggs to 102. It has no air fan. But I have low hopes. This is day 17. Should I start increasing the humidity now? The 2 instruments are telling me the humidity is 23 ( I am dry hatching so far) while little giant is telling me the humidity is at 45. Ugh I hate this incubator

I always keor therm in mine n gt humidity/therm reader in a hot room. I had 18 out of 23 hatch. Egg turners stink imo so don't use. Says 42 but bust that in half. Betr circulation

The 9300 is usually at LEAST 3 degrees off if not more and more often than not the hygrometer is a lost cause. So if you have two corresponding themometers, I would go by them. If your temp has been that far off there is no reason to lockdown early as if anything hatches, you probably won't see anything until a couple days after the "hatch day". I would candle, check development and see how far behind it appears and check the air cells to see if it would be better to raise your humidity early.

thank you for the replies to my questions AmyLyn. So I think I have 2 viable eggs after candling, the air sacs look good, I have penciled them off. Do you think I should continue to go with the 102 degrees on the LG reading or up it 3-5 degrees? I made another mistake and bought 2 crappy temp readers. One is saying 95 degrees and the other is saying 92. Not sure where to go from here. Do you have a temp/hygrometer you recommend? I added water to all the containers and put a wet spongue in there. Thank you!

I would NOT go by the LG readings. Switch the two thermometers around so they are opposite where they are now and see if they change to say what the other did. It may be a matter of hot/cold spots. I would increase the LG by 3 degrees. Many people prefer the Brinsea spot check for temp checking. I use 2 Springfield precision thermometers for the temp and an accurite for the hygrometer. (Many people buy the cheap hygrometers they use in reptile tanks from the pet store and highly recommend them.)

Thank you so much for the suggestions! The 2 temp and hygrometers I had bought were junk. I went to the pet store and bought an aquarium one. So far it's reading 100 degrees right next to my eggs and 67 percent humidity. We struggled so much yesterday trying to get the temp/humidity down though. I just have no hopes for the hatch. Out of the 7 eggs in there I think 2 were viable. Today is day 19 for us. Won't open the lid now. Any suggestions on how long to wait if no eggs pip to see what happened?
