Okay, we discovered, yesterday, that we lost a hen and think it happened a day or 2 ago. The thing is, our coop areas are under about 4-6 inches of water right now from recent rains so the chickens have been in the coop all week. This one must of decided to get out through the water and something got her. We found the legs and a few bones but not hardly any feathers and definitely not enough to account for a full grown chicken. Our lab (we do not think it was her because she has not been out running free all week until yesterday morning due to all the standing water) found some of the bones (maybe a wing?). Anyway, does that sound like it could be a hawk or more like a coyote? We know we have both around here. We also think fox are around but have never seen them.
