Well, I'll try posting this again-- 2 of the girls have used their ladder today to get to the nesting area, which is where they should sleep. They're staying out tonite. Should I wory about #3 not going up? Or will they go up and I shouldn't worry or? I did hang a millet branch on the ladder to tempt them....

Eventually the last one will get it. I have one hold out and every night, another bird goes over to get her and shoves her up outta the coop.

That's funny! I did add a 20 watt red bulb in the nest area and one came right up, but it's still twilight, dark in about 30 minutes or so. I guess she'll figuire it out. Only supposed to be 45 tonite... my babies are graduating, sniff, sniff....

I felt the same way, yet when I see how happy they are outside, my regret goes away! It's my cochin that refuses to follow the rules, so one of the 10 week olds goes to get her. Too cute! Her name is Charmin, because she looks like she has TP stuck to her feet.

Well right after I turned on the bulb, and looked out, all 3 were up

They're cuddled next to the vent, funny that's where the cold air comes in. If they get too cold, hopefully they'll go to the other side where there's more straw. I stuffed in extra though, all over since they're newbies. And they LOVED being out side all day! 65 tomorrow, woo hoo!

Tonight was night 3 of their big girl (and boy) bed, i'd put them up in the coop the first 2 nights and was kinda surprised the first morning that they'd all made it down on their own. Tonight I was getting ready to go put them up there and 4 had already gone, wasn't long before the last 2 were up as well. I thought i'd be helping them for a bit but they caught on!
I'm sure she'll catch on, but if it were me i'd help her out just to ease my mind.

My girls did well last night! I checked on them an hour or 2 later, snuggled up over by the light, up this morning eating and peeping, seemed fine. Since we have record lows predicted the next few nights, I'm bringing them in at night for a while. 40 mph winds right now and supposed to be in the 30's! Pick a season already! Was 67 today, supposed to be 45 tomorrow (high)...

And they were up there late today, still chilly this afternoon...
