Hey folks! New to chickens and poultry. I have two hens, EE/Welsummer (green layer), Welsummer/??? (Light brown layer) and a Black Bantam Cochin Roo. My birds were free to me and are “pets.” My EE (Sunny) went broody sitting on the other (Rosie) one’s eggs and hatch some really interesting chicks. I think I’ve got 50% male/female from this. And I started hatching some other free eggs Tuesday. They are EE Hen x Buff Orpington Rooster; EE x Rhode Island Red; Barred Plymouth Rock Hen x BO; BR x RIR. I had 14 of that combination and 6 eggs from backyard chicken muts that I’m not sure what they are. So far 12 of 22 have hatched. I also have 8 guineas and 3 Muscovies. It all kinda just happened and now I have a flock. Look forward to the content on this forum.

About to have bacon wrapped Muscovy for the first time tonight. The boys were being a bit ruff and accidentally broke one of the girl’s legs and peck her eye so now they are dinner. My girls just started laying. Eggs are good, will see how the fellas taste.
