First Run

I set my first batch of eggs in my LG incubator. This is my first try at hatching.

I set 8 Cochin Bantam eggs, 5 Blue Andalusian, 8 Sumatra, 15 Barn Yard Mixes and 1 Duck egg.

I have a few dollars in the Andalusian and Sumatras, but the rest were free. I am hoping for a good turn out.

I hope you know that ducks take 28 days and chickens only 21 days?
Are the eggs in a turner or are you hand turning?
When it comes to hatch you might wanna move the duck egg to a different part of the bator so the chicks won't mess with it.

I do have the turner. I do not have a fan. I have heard different opinions on the fan in these small units.

I am aware of the duck egg. I put it in just to see if it would grow. The guy who gave it to me said it may not. If it does, it will be off the turner only 3 days, back on for a couple before its very own lock down.
