When my ISA Brown went broody, we didn't know how dedicated she would be as it was unexpected. But when a chicken who is bred to not be broody wants babies that much, I had to see what would happen. Two little cheepers so far with 2 more eggs under her. Nothing as adorable as listening to her talk to her babies. It's my first time hatching chicks at all & watching the toll on Momma McChicken was tough but she is enthralled with her babies.

It is so sweet When you've got a good mama hen.

She will bounce back. The first hen I had that went broody would go 3 days between taking a little break. She was getting thin so I started delivering room service half way through. LOL

Awwww! That's such a cute picture. I hope the other two hatch soon. Are they all the same breed? I had a broody this summer too, and it was exhausting for her, but the cutest thing ever. Now they are 5 weeks old and she had them on the "big kid" perch to roost last night, but still with her wings wrapped around them! Soooo cute!
