Hello my name is Cherelle and I live in Michigan. I live with my Aunt and her 2 children. Yesterday we went to the feed store to purchase baby chickens for the children for easter. We have 9 total and they are 5 days old today. I'm not sure what they are (my aunt purchased them). We plan on keeping them for the long run and I'm the only proactive one when it comes to finding out information about them; meaning i'm the main caregiver. We are gonna need so much help in the future i'm sure. I think we have 3 months until we can put them outside so I hope that's plenty of time. By then we should hopefully have 6 (3 of them are meat chickens she didn't ask questions and the clerk said they will be too large to continue living in 13 weeks). So I am hoping I will get lots of information from this site. Please take care of me and my chicks. Thank You.

Thanks so much. I'm doing okay for only having them for a day now. My biggest worry is what are we gonna do when they get to big for their aquarium.

That is so sad because they are so cute and seem the most calm out of the rest of the chicks. We haven't named any of them yet. I didn't think she was even gonna get this many.

I should have said chicken coop. It will be where your babys will live. A home of thier own if you will. you can find many fine ones here. It will give you some ideas.

No we do not have a chicken coop yet. We have been looking she wants to turn her old dog kennel into one.

That can work. Look in Coop and run thread. you will like it. But you wont want the fuzzy butts in the house forever.
