Hello, hello!
This is our first time incubating quail eggs. We've done chickens in the past, but it's been a little while, and my little wee pirates age 8 and 4 ran off with my incubator directions. We've got thirty cotournix quail eggs in the incubator, we just put them in, we've checked the temp the incubator is running right, but we weren't able to find a hygrometer in town today, and our old one bit the bullet; we have to order one as we live in a isolated place. Meanwhile we've filled one of the five channels in the bottom tray of the incubator, and are going to keep an eye on air sacs; our house usually runs around 60 % humidity. Does anyone else know if one channel is good enough or not?
Also we ran out of dividers and ended up staggering the last tenon both ends. Is it okay to stagger the eggs like this? I would imagine they will roll against each other as it's a self rotating incubator, wouldn't that also happen under a hen?
Comments appreciated!
