I work at a big ol' farm store, I made it all the way through chick season last year without taking any home. This year, I didn't make it. I have 6 so far, with probably another on the way. 2 silkies, 2 araucanas, a sicilian buttercup and a turken. The "on the way" is still at work, he's a little defective so he may end up being an inside chicken.
I've had the good fortune to become friends with our chick expert at work, she took home half a dozen of each variety we got. So far my chicks are doing great. I just took away their heat lamp and put the cover on the pet barn they are in.
