The girlfriend went into town 3 weeks ago, and guess what she brought home a dozen mallard ducklings. Well the problem now is that they are starting to pick at each other. 2 of them have bald spots already. How do I get them to stop. By the way they are in a 2.5"x 5" padio box now. Do I need more room for them? Any help will help.

2.5 x 5"??? that is really small! or did you mean feet?

Do they have access to water? Like a small swimming "pond"- do they have plenty of food?

you might give them some toys too...

12 ducklings that are 3 weeks old in a 2.5x5 foot box isn't a lot of room for them.
Can you swing another patio box? Or something else that is of good size and split them in half so they aren't so crowded.

They are quite big at 3 wk and so many of them in such a small space? They need double the room if not more now. I have 6 4-5wk olds in a 4ft by 3ft with a pond and they are already outgrowing that!

You don't have to go fancy, if you can find a couple of big cardboard boxes they can't jump out of you can duct tape them together. What do you have set up for them outside?

A for what I have set up fop them outside is nothing yet. We have a pond set up with 2 manards tubs and lime stone around them. Will be putting up like chichen wire fence around that. The brouther is going to bring over a 35 ft school bus that half will be for ducks the other half chickens. I am waiting to see how many hens I got, and am only going to keep 1 drake. The brother lives by lake he will be getting the extras. Will be allot cooler than it sounds.

So I need more room it sounds like. I will get on that in next few days I hope. It is still in the 30's during the day and colder at night.
Thanks I will move some to tank I have tonight.

Oh yes forgot to say that they swim every day for a half hour to hour in tub we fill with water. They love it. Can not wait until it warms up. Right now we have about 2 acers that has water in it from snow melt last weekend. I live on game refuge so geese and ducks around by the 100's.
