Hi all! I am a first time goat mom! My goat was exposed sometime in May. I bought her in July so that is what I was told! I have been watching her closely and she is getting very big on her sides. She has udders but bagging little. Tonight I went out to put them in for the night and she has some watery discharge and some blood. Should I keep close to the barn? She is she eating normal and everything too. She is acting a little different but not much! Thanks in advance!

Hi
I absolutely have no knowledge on goats, but thought I would just say hello and welcome to Backyard Chickens. There is many knowledgeable people here who will help you. I hope you get your answers 😊

Congrats! I would keep an eye on her, but they usually bag up fully about 12 hours before they kid. If you can check her ligaments you’ll know for sure, they’ll feel like they’re completely gone when she starts to go into labor. You can find some great tutorials on YouTube. I highly recommend Weed ‘Em And Reap, they are the best goat channel I’ve found. Here is one of their goat labor prep videos:
Best of luck! (I know I’m a little late, so you may have found your answer already 😉)
