Hello everyone,
This is my First time ever hatching with a broody. Shes in a nest that is shared bye 4 other hens laying, and i dont want to get the eggs mixed up ect.
My question: If i move her, Will she get off the nest? I REALLY need her to incubate these eggs, since i cant afford to buy anymore. So do you suggest i move her to a dark area (probably the basement) or keep her in the nest and block her off? Thanks!
Mark

If you move her she will most likely stop broody on you.
mark the eggs that you are haveing her brood on, that way you can collect your others,
do you have any other boxs you can put in the same coop for the other girls to lay theres in? that would be the best.

Thanks Shay
I do Theres 2 nests but for some reason they only use one.
I can add some more nest tomorrow. Do you think i should block her off with food and water as well, just so the other chickens don't bug her??

Oh Yeah its a red cochin bantam Hen, with the same build as yours, how many bantam eggs could i safely put under her without affecting the hatch rate?

ohhh coool, with out affecting hatch about 6 bantam eggs. you could shoot for 8 bantam eggs though. you may get 1 that will be effected by being in the front.

if you can block her off, leave her right where she is, and give her own water and food, that would work.
