first time hatching

Day 7 and we have 5 little chickens growing (yeay) my friend gave my little girl some silkie cross eggs to try (we had no luck with our duck eggs ) we so excited , we have to do a quick candle when turning the eggs on a night for her to write the down all the changes (shes made in to project for school to show how they develop) we are so excited and nervous at the same time lol

is there any other first timers out there ???? ( think my husband fed up of hearing about them lol

We are first timers too! We got some laying hens who had been paired with roosters---- so when we got them home and they started laying for me, it dawned on me their eggs would be fertile for a while...so we collected them! Here is ours last night on day 5

Hope your eggs are doing well sadly we lost ours my incubator spike right up in temp :-( new incubator on its way to try again

aw I hate to hear that!!! Well, we are down to 5 eggs from 8...3 had no development....kinda nervous about the last 5. For some reason I feel like we will be disappointed... Hoping by next Thursday I have at least a chick or two! lol
